🎲 Fame Flame: The Official Famous for Being Famous Board Game – Dana & Max #10

Satire Disclaimer

The following is a work of satire intended to parody influencer culture, the Famous for Being Famous phenomenon, and the relentless drive to turn literally anything into a monetizable product.

If you’ve ever bought merch from someone whose only skill is existing online, you’ve already played a practice round.

Dana: Just in case you haven’t seen it, Sandy & Polly did this scathing segment tearing into the people who are famous for being famous — and then Nelly & the Professor stroll in with their “official study”.

Max: Peer-reviewed, too. Which, in Nelly’s world, means The Professor read it twice and Nelly nodded while eating popcorn.

Dana: They had this glossary of influencer terms — Flarification, Buzzmosis, Influgravitas… it was so spot-on I nearly dropped my phone into my ramen laughing.

Honestly, the Famous for Being Famous crowd has never been so accurately roasted.

Max: And we thought, hey — why just study the famous for being famous when we can turn it into a game and get famous for monetizing them?

Which, honestly, feels like the truest tribute we can pay.

Dana: So now, ladies and gentlemen, we present: Fame Flame: The Official Board Game for People Who Are Famous for Being Famous.

The only game where the less you accomplish, the more you win.

Max: Just like in real life — except here, the scandals are cheaper and you don’t have to pretend your public apology video is from the heart.

Game Objective

Become the most famous for being famous player at the table by racking up 100 Fame Points through scandals, viral moments, and questionable life choices.

Famous for Being Famous

Talent optional.

Self-awareness discouraged.

Dana: If you’ve ever followed someone for no reason other than ‘they seem fun,’ congratulations, you’re halfway to becoming famous for being famous already.

How to Play Fame Flame

Step 1: Do Something Mildly Entertaining or Tragically Stupid

Draw a card.

Red: Viral-worthy stupid (+10 Fame Points).

Black: Career-ending stupid (-5 Fame Points, but +5 Mystery Points — ‘Where’d they go?!’).

Max: Mystery Points are like when someone famous for being famous disappears from social media for three weeks and you assume they’re filming a reality show.

Famous for Being Famous

Spoiler: they’re just hungover.

Example Scandal Card: Accidentally live-streamed yourself ordering extra pickles for 15 minutes.

Dana: You’d be surprised how many famous for being famous influencers would call that ‘content.’

Step 2: Go Viral

Roll a die:

1–3: You peak at 4,000 views and your mom’s the only comment. Lose 5 Fame Points.

4–6: You hit the viralsphere, wedged between a raccoon eating a Pop-Tart and a celebrity divorce. +15 Fame Points.

Max: Honestly, if you’re famous for being famous, that’s the holy trinity — cute animal, relationship drama, and a snack.

Step 3: Launch Merch

Spend 5 Fame Points to “release” a hoodie with your dumbest slogan.

If another player “buys” it (hands you a chip), you both gain +5 Fame Points.

Dana: Example slogan: ‘Oops, My Bad™ — Now in Olive Drab Green, Because We Know You’re Boring.’

Max: Or my personal favorite: ‘Limited Edition, Until We Make More.’ Perfect for the famous for being famous crowd.

Step 4: Start a Podcast

Pick a co-host (it doesn’t matter if you’ve met them). Every time you name-drop them during your turn, +2 Fame Points.

Famous for Being Famous

Max: Example: ‘As I was telling my podcast co-host-slash-life coach-slash former pool cleaner…’ That’s pure famous for being famous energy.

Dana: Don’t forget to have an intro song longer than the actual conversation.

Step 5: Write the Memoir No One Asked For

Spend 10 Fame Points to “publish” Unfiltered: My Story.

Famous for Being Famous

All players must address you as “Author” until your next turn or lose 3 Fame Points.

Max: Bonus points if you sell a ‘signed’ edition where the signature is actually printed on. Very famous for being famous.

Bonus Fame Moves (Inspired by Nelly & the Professor’s Study)

Pull a Flarification: Magnify a minor achievement into a 12-part video series. +10 Fame Points.

Execute a Buzzmosis: Stand next to someone actually famous. +5 Fame Points for proximity fame.

Achieve Influgravitas: Perform a TikTok dance with the seriousness of a UN speech. +8 Fame Points.

Dana: You know, nothing says famous for being famous like acting like a 15-second lip-sync is a Nobel Prize speech.

Max: First player to 100 Fame Points wins — or, like real influencer careers, whoever’s ahead when everyone gets bored and wanders off to watch someone unbox toothpaste on TikTok.

Dana: And in the spirit of the famous for being famous tradition, you can pre-order Fame Flame now… even though we haven’t finished making it.

Max: We promise you’ll get it just in time for your public apology tour.
